Spring 2026 is looking extremely promising for the strawberry sector. Growers in Huelva and Morocco’s Loukkos region are forecasting harvests up by 6%, driven by early flowering and generous sunshine in February.
Open-Field Strawberries
The Camarosa variety remains the season’s reliable benchmark, with excellent post-harvest shelf life and high yields. The more aromatic Sabrina is gaining ground and increasingly winning over premium markets in northern Europe.
Greenhouse Strawberries
Production under plastic tunnels, mainly Fortuna and Splendor, extends the marketing window through May. The intense red color and consistent sizing of these lots make them easy to valorize in retail environments.
